Dennis Hong was born in Brampton, an industrial suburb of Toronto, Canada, to Korean immigrant parents. His early years were deeply shaped by a hardworking family atmosphere. Dennis Hong helped out from a young age, an experience that became his earliest business education, teaching him to understand a business from the ground up. Undergraduate education: In 2005, he graduated from Yale University with a B.A. in Ethics, Politics & Economics. Graduate education: He began an MBA at Harvard Business School, but after completing his first year, he dropped out to seize the opportunity to found ShawSpring Partners.
