Early Life and Education
Chase Coleman III was born in June 1975 into a well-to-do family in Glen Head, New York. His family boasts deep historical roots, descending from Peter Stuyvesant, the last Dutch governor of New York. His father was a law firm partner, and his mother ran an interior design business. Coleman received a top-tier education at Deerfield Academy and Williams College, graduating in 1997 with a degree in Spanish and economics. During college, he also served as co-captain of the lacrosse team, demonstrating leadership skills. His connection to legendary investor Julian Robertson began through personal ties—Coleman was a childhood friend of Robertson’s son. This relationship laid important groundwork for his future career.
